Chico has a varied legal practice with a good deal of his work being in the field of personal injuries litigation primarily acting on behalf of the major insurance and construction companies, although also undertaking some claimant work. His experience ranges from handling claims involving very serious head injuries to a straightforward whiplash injury both in the context of road traffic injuries and employment situations. In this regard Chico has had ocassion to appear in the Privy Council in the UK in a landmark decision relating to the liability of the Government of Gibraltar qua highway authority. His practice has been extended into the area of clinical negligence in which he has acted on behalf of claimants and also defended the professional care provider.
In addition, a substantial part of Chico's practice is in Shipping where he has acted for a number of shipowners in registering their vessels in the Gibraltar Ship Registry, and for financing banks in relation to their security.
Chico additionally manages the firm's Trade Mark and Intellectual Property Practice as well as undertaking some private client work in drafting wills and assisting clients in the administration of estates.
