James is a partner in the firm's Shipping & Admiralty department, and as such forms part of the team described by the Legal 500 as the 'premier in maritime issues'. He has considerable experience in the registration and financing of vessels on the Gibraltar Commercial Ships Register acting for both ship owners and many international shipping banks. He also acts for individual private clients who wish to register vessels on the Gibraltar Pleasure Yacht Registry, and in this regard has acted in the negotiation of yacht building contracts as well as for international banks and leasing companies financing pleasure yachts in Gibraltar.
James also forms part of the firm's Admiralty practice and has extensive experience in ship arrests ranging from individual ships to multiple vessel arrests. He has participated in the two largest multiple vessel arrests in Gibraltar's history.
He is a Member of the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple.
