Christian Triay

Christian completed his Bachelor of Laws with Honours at the University of Southampton before completing his Legal Practice Course at BPP Holborn in London. Christian then went onto complete a Master of Laws in Shipping Law at the University of Cape Town in South Africa and is nowstudying a part-time Masters in Environmental Law with the UniversitatRoviraiVirgili in Spain.

Christian completed his training contract and qualified as a lawyer in England & Wales with Clyde & Co LLP gaining experience in both maritime and insurance law at their offices in London and Johannesburg.

Following qualification Christian has been working at the Southern African Foundation for the Conservation of Coastal Birds (SANCCOB) in South Africa as their Oiled Wildlife Preparedness and Response Manager where he has been using his legal skills to work with various stakeholders in government and the oil and gas industry to mitigate the risk and impact of marine pollution on endangered seabirds, such as the African penguin. Christian also co-founded and sits on the Board of Trustees of the African Forest Elephant Foundation, which aims to conserve the lesser known African forest elephant in Central & West Africa.

Christian is now completing his Gibraltar training contract with Triay and is currently assisting both the Dispute Resolution and Shipping and Admiralty teams.
