Gibraltar publishes Distributed Ledger Technology Regulations

The Government of Gibraltar has published the Financial Services (Distributed Ledger Technology Providers) Regulations 2017 together with a corresponding Bill for an Act to amend the Financial Services (Investment and Fiduciary Services) Act.

The new regulations, which are set to come into force in January 2018, are designed to provide an efficient, pragmatic and safe framework for firms engaging in Distributed Ledger Technology (“DLT”) based businesses.
